Fire Test Results

Data Center and concentrated Communications Equipment settings are a source of fire by a continuously energized circuit or power supply.

Test procedures and observations, by the Engineering department, caused the continuously Energized Fire condition to be recognized by NFPA 2001, starting yr 2006 : “A fire that involves energized electrical equipment is one in which an uninterrupted energy source will continue to reignite, including the surrounding Class A or B fuels.”
It is recommended by the revealing Test Results that Class ‘C ‘ Design Agent Concentration be applied where your equipment distribution fuse points are above 4 amps 48 VDC.
Included in current edition of NFPA 2001 (Standard on Clean Agent Fire Extinguishing Systems), it is imperative that fire suppression system have “capability to both extinguish the combustion of materials and inert the Ignition Source.”
